Awhile back, Bads Photography and I locked in on getting the TX5 as a backup point-and-shoot camera. However, prices for that baby have not lowered as we expected, and money became tight so we’ve had to let that idea go. So no, we won’t be getting a Sony Cybershot TX-5 for Christmas.
I’ve almost gotten over the feeling of loss for not getting that camera, it would have been a wonderful daily companion, and a beachside/poolside buddy. Then I read this Sony NEX-5 Review on Geeky Gadgets.
If you’re after the flexibility of a DSLR, but like the mobility and compact form of a point-and-shoot, then this should be on your wishlist. I think I’m adding it on to mine. Of course, the price is NOT on my budget range at the moment, but that’s why it’s a wish list right?

True, the price is not exactly budget friendy.
I've gotten one and love the compactness of it.
